I Am A: Neutral Good Human Sorcerer (4th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-11

Dexterity-14

Constitution-11

Intelligence-16

Wisdom-15

Charisma-15

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

"I am the manager, B!" Nov. 23rd, 2006 @ 04:35 am
Hi.

```````````````
I've found my way into the manager's seat again. Now, I find my self with about 4 people ::makes shelf hand motion:: directly under me.
```````````````

I have Final Fantasy 12, but I haven't really gotten very far. Fran's voice does wonderful horrible things to my brain.

```````````````
I'm tuba-ing with Rich Sigwald, working on putting together a new Brass Quintet. We have a bitchin arrangement of Journey's Seperate Ways.
```````````````

Less than a month to wedded blisters. I don't plan to do this whole planning arranging a wedding thing anytime soon again.

Did I mention that our officiant has a trick elbow?

My grandmother passed away earlier this week. She'd been in decline for the last few months. I called her last week, though I did most of the talking. She was out in California with my Aunt, receiving in home care. Dad went to visit last week also. He said she smiled for the first time in a while during my phone call. Its only because of that phone call that I'm feeling ok.

The Lester Bangs of Video Games by Chuck Klosterman

and the followup QA by GameSpot

------
Let me just say, at the risk of garnering the venom of every hardcore gamer and layman video game detractor, *I* would like to be this person.

Damn the UMBC VPA and music for giving me this "everything is art" notion. (Though they didn't have to do much: I've always been pretty accepting of any oddball concept) This article doesn't help matters, since there's someone else that can state, even if just enough to make his point, that video games could be considered an artform.

And deep video game criticism is absolutely attainable, but it absolutely can't happen the same way it did went print media was so many time more relevant and important than it is today.

In the followup, Klosterman touches on the stumbling block here: who among gamers is a credible writer, and willing to invest time in game experience criticism? I've gamed all my life, but I have no writing authority. And beyond that, I dont' have wide spread game authority. Blog as I might, how does one break the blog noise and ring out relevant?

But, there is the hope that someone recognized among a good portion of gamers can break away and become this figure. My money would be on Will Wright (Should he retire), Mr. Miyamoto (should he ever retire and become surly) or Adam Sessler (given a large enough leash). Say what you will about G4, X-Play is a fairly smart show, with fairly smart writing. Given a larger stage, the show could possibly have wide appeal and a chance at mainstream (or journalsim-stream) credibility.

One can only hope. Or start taking journalism courses.

Contents within are malformed. I just started ranting about video games and politics and art and it all turned into whatever the hell this is. I don't know. I dont' want to argue, but I also dont' want to minimize my opinion . . . or inflate the worth of my opinion. Take this, Journal. )

You know what I'm talkin' about. I'll go see it.

Crossover movie. It's Marvel. You can't tell me someone at Executive level hasn't considered it.

But that is giving executives alot of credit.

I can be downloaded at iTunes!

which is to say, a track that I played tuba on is available to download:

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=39324283&s=143441&i=39324271

This, actually, is also the same exact track used in the State Farm insurance commercial.

Time to hunt down my royalties!!! :p

Not really, since I doubt most seriously I'm entitled. But, this is a nice surprise / ego boost.

HEY!

I haven't (Mac gamers have a 6 month waiting period for games. Must be dangerous . . .), but I know some of you are into that sort of thing. You know who you are.

I do a 9 hour day, plus a total 1h 25m commute per day. That's not counting often necessary crunch time/overtime. I work lots, but feel no pain. Wanna test games in Annapolis? If you think you're at all qualified to manage uploading/downloading/play testing/proofreading/problem solving/time managing all day long for not especially stellar but ok-I-guess pay, I'd certainly consider it.

Sheila became reluctantly repairable two weeks ago. Blown head gasket. $800 of labor. That repair dinnae happen folks.

Sooooooo I now have a NEW (used) CAR!

I have the 2002 version of this car

Love. This. Car.

Sun roof, a CD player, v6 engine (Go fast when you want to engine), Trunk space for 2 Tubas (three people), removable cup holders, Power doors, Power windows, Power driver's seat, Airbags for days, cruise control and a coolant system that does not produce Irish cream coffee colored sludge.

» Disconnected
I feel pretty disconnected from everybody.

No really, everybody.
`````````````
But I guess I'm alright with that?
I dunno. There's a nasty level of freedom in not feeling connected.
I live in Fort Washington, when I don't sleep in Baltimore. I play in WoW, but I work in Bowie. But from tomorrow on I'll be working in Annapolis, spending nearly 2 hours in my car on a work day (Not to mention an hour one way to be in Baltimore).
Everybody around me has problems that I can't fix, so I have to accept that. In that acceptance, there's a alot of disconnecting going on.
See, it doesn't pay much more, and I have to drive way farther to get to work (Annapolis). But, I don't have to work weekends (at least not in crunch time), I don't have to handle customer complaints, and, at last, I get a chair.
And besides, how often do you get the reasonable opportunity to be a game tester, in Maryland even. I'll tell you how often.
Not that often my friend. Not that often.
